WHAT THEY ARE SAYING...

Aga Khan Master Musicians

The Aga Khan Music Programme is developing a new concert project for the 2027-28 season that features the Aga Khan Master Musicians alongside a new generation of Aga Khan Music Awards laureates. Rooted in long-standing musical lineages yet shaped by contemporary collaboration, the evening sets internationally-acclaimed tradition-bearers next to emerging composers, improvisers, and ensemble leaders from across the Great East.

The concert unfolds as a series of musical encounters: intimate solos and duos give way to newly-created ensemble works, where new voices meet to perform new works created by the artists and for the artists. Each performance highlights the creative dialogue between inherited practice and artistic voices, reflecting the Aga Khan Music Programme’s commitment to sustaining living heritage while nurturing innovation and transmission across generations. The Programme celebrates music as a vessel of spirituality and a force for tolerance, curiosity, and pluralism, nurturing young people’s imaginations and opening new pathways for creative livelihoods in music and the arts.
